Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade and Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov met the Russian President at the Heydar Aliyev International airport.

After the discussion the presidents took part in the opening ceremony of the Year of Russia in Azerbaijan.
In the evening Vladimir Putin met with representatives of the religious communities of Azerbaijan.
On behalf of the Directorate of the Muslims of the Caucasus Vladimir Putin received the highest Azerbaijanian Mulsim order Sheikh Ul Islam in recognition of special efforts towards strengthening statehood.
