They discussed the situation in the Middle East in light of the talks with the leadership of the Palestinian movement Hamas that took place in Moscow. They also discussed issues surrounding the Iranian nuclear dossier in view of recent Russian-Iranian contacts.
They expressed their satisfaction with the high level of coordination between Russia's and Germany's approaches to these and other international issues.
