Speaking at celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of Russia’s submarine fleet, President Vladimir Putin said that the fleet plays a key part not only in carrying out national objectives but also in the strategic deterrent process at regional and global level.

The President said that creating a modern and technically well-equipped submarine fleet able to react to modern threats and resist any external military and political pressure on the country is one of the Russian leadership’s top priorities.
