President Vladimir Putin congratulated Alexander Lukashenko on his re-election as President of the Republic of Belarus

The President’s telegram reads, in particular:

“The results of the election that has just taken place are evidence of the voters’ confidence in the course you have chosen to ensure rising prosperity for the Belarusian people.

Russia and Belarus are bound by solid ties of friendship. We are working together actively to develop multifaceted integration and to deepen our relations in all areas of our cooperation. I am sure that by working together we can make real progress towards building the union between us and ensuring the consistent democratic development of our countries.

I wish you success in your work as head of state, Alexander Grigoryevich, and I wish the entire brotherly Belarusian people peace and prosperity.”
