Mr Putin congratulated Mr Yushchenko on the recent parliamentary election, an important event in Ukraine’s political life, the results of which reflect Ukrainian citizens’ desire to develop their relations with Russia in all areas. In this context, Mr Putin emphasised that Russia is ready to work closely with the Ukrainian President and with the new Ukrainian Cabinet that will be formed as a result of the election.

Mr Yushchenko thanked Mr Putin warmly for his words of congratulation and affirmed Ukraine’s desire to continue developing its cooperation with Russia.
