Mr Putin congratulated the athletes on their outstanding successes at the Paralympics and said that the medallists would receive an additional recompense of $65,000 and their trainers would receive $25,000.
The President stressed that the state will continue to develop the infrastructure required by athletes with disabilities.
Russia’s team of 29 athletes won 33 medals at the IX Winter Paralympics in Turin (13 gold, 13 silver and 7 bronze) and took first place in the medals table.
