President Vladimir Putin held a meeting of the Commission for Military-Technical Cooperation with Foreign States

March 31, 2006, The Kremlin, Moscow

The meeting examined the results of military-technical cooperation with foreign states in 2005.

Russia exported $6 billion worth of military equipment and expanded the number of its partners to 61 different countries.

Mr Putin said that closer contacts with the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, the CIS, Southeast Asia and the Middle East were among the biggest successes in military-technical cooperation over the past year. China and India remain Russia’s biggest partners.
