They discussed the situation with respect to human rights in Russia.
Ella Pamfilova reported to the President on the Council's work in preparing proposals with respect to improving children's rights, support for the family, and for motherhood.
The Chairwoman of the Council presented the President the results of monitoring and implementing recommendations made by the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe, Alvaro Gil-Robles, following a trip to Russia in 2004.
At the meeting they also discussed problems concerning indemnification for lost property and housing in Chechnya.
