Before the talks began in Tomsk State University’s Scientific Library, Mr Putin and Mrs Merkel introduced to each other the members of their delegations. This was followed by a photo session.
During their one-on-one meeting that lasted an hour-and-a-half, Mr Putin and Mrs Merkel discussed current issues in bilateral relations, including in political, economic, cultural and scientific relations.
Following their talks, Mr Putin and Mrs Merkel made press statements.
The President and the Chancellor also met with graduates of the Presidential programme training managers for the Russian economy.
