Some 60 leading representatives of the two countries’ business communities attended the forum.

Before the President and the Chancellor arrived, the businesspeople held a preliminary exchange of views and discussed new projects and cooperation plans in areas such as energy, machine-building, car manufacturing, transport, infrastructure and the banking sector. Also discussed was German business involvement in helping to carry out Russia’s national projects.

Speaking at the forum, Mr Putin drew the German business representatives’ attention to the prospects opening up for them in cooperation with Russia.
