President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to President of Armenia Robert Kocharian following the crash of an Armenian plane over the Black Sea causing numerous victims

In an early morning telephone call, Mr Putin reported in detail on the search and rescue operations Russia is carrying out in the crash zone and on further steps planned. Mr Kocharian thanked Mr Putin for his telephone call and for the information. Armenian specialists will soon join in the operations.

Both Presidents stressed that this is a common tragedy for the Russian and Armenian peoples and expressed their profound and sincere condolences for the families of the Russian and Armenian citizens killed in the disaster. The two Presidents have declared that Russia and Armenia will observe a day of mourning on May 5.
