Vladimir Putin and Angela Merkel discussed the situation in the Middle East in detail. They emphasized the imperative need for the international community to engage in coordinated efforts to prevent the situation from degrading any further, help it normalize, and renew the peace process with a view to obtaining a Middle Eastern settlement.
The parties agreed to continue coordinating Russian-German cooperation on these issues.
