“The traditionally friendly relations between Russia and Italy have centuries-old roots, have passed the test of time, and are in the interests of both of our nations. Recently our relations have taken the form of a partnership which helps bilateral cooperation, both between the state and society and on all levels, consistently become more profound. Our partnership also facilitates the implementation of important joint initiatives in political, economic, cultural, scientific and other fields.

I shall be glad to continue working with you towards further developing the constructive and fruitful Russian-Italian cooperation with a view to strengthening the climate of trust and partnership in Europe, and participating in the search for adequate answers for the difficult challenges that face the civilized world today.”
