The meeting took place at the Presidential Residence, Bocharov Ruchei, in Sochi.
The two Presidents discussed current economic and political cooperation issues, including within the CIS, Collective Security Treaty Organisation, Eurasian Economic Community and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, and the development of cultural ties between the two countries.
Mr Putin and Mr Rakhmonov also focused particularly on the problem of protecting the CIS’ southern borders and developing measures to prevent drugs trafficking from Afghanistan.
Following their talks, Mr Putin and Mr Rakhmonov made press statements.
