With the G20 summit in London approaching, Mr Medvedev and Mr Nazarbayev exchanged views on the global economic crisis. Mr Nazarbayev expressed support for Russia’s positions regarding the issues on the London summit’s agenda. The two Presidents agreed to continue their discussions on these matters after the summit.

Also discussed were bilateral and multilateral trade and economic cooperation. In particular, both leaders reaffirmed their plans to step up work on the strategically important Caspian pipeline construction project.
