Meeting with President of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) Rene van der Linden, President Vladimir Putin said that although Russia has not been working in the PACE for very long, the Russian leadership will make every effort to ensure consistent development of cooperation with the organisation.

Russia’s presidency of the Committee of Council of Europe Foreign Ministers will also help to achieve this objective.

Mr Putin said that the President of the Parliamentary Assembly’s visit is a step that will strengthen Russia’s ties with the assembly.
