The President’s message of congratulations read, in particular:
“We are pleased to see that the relations between Russia and Italy, which are based on solid traditions of a centuries-old friendship, have reached an unprecedented high level in recent years. Our relations are characterised by a genuine partnership that is illustrated not only by our substantial and constructive political dialogue but also by the diversity of the bilateral ties between our governments, parliaments and civil societies. Our economic cooperation is also undergoing dynamic growth.
Russian-Italian cooperation in international affairs constitutes an important factor in European and world politics. I am certain that the joint efforts of our countries will continue to help consolidate international security and stability”.
