Agriculture Minister Alexei Gordeyev reported on the National Agricultural Census that will take place on 1–25 July, 2006.

Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov informed the meeting of the International Olympic Committee’s decision to accord the city of Sochi the status of official candidate to host the 2014 Winter Olympics.

First Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev informed the President on a meeting of the Presidium of the Council for the Implementation of the National Projects that will take place in Moscow on Tuesday. Mr Putin proposed that the meeting take into account the wishes of people working in the agriculture sector and extend the timeframe of the National Project for Agriculture to three years.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reported on the upcoming meeting of the G8 foreign ministers.

Mr Putin informed the Cabinet that he has signed the Decree on Measures to Help Russians Living Abroad Voluntarily Resettle in the Russian Federation.

The President instructed the Presidential Control Department to draw up a mechanism to ensure control over the decree’s implementation.
