Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov reported on macroeconomic indicators. According to Mr Zhukov, the rise in inflation for 2006 should be between 8–9 percent.

The President informed the Cabinet members of a decision to settle debts to the Paris Club ahead of schedule. The money thus saved will be used to fund infrastructure and energy sector development and to finance the priority national projects.
