Vladimir Putin signed the federal law “On Ratifying the Agreement on the Status of the Fundamental Legislation of the Eurasian Economic Community, on the way it is Developed, Accepted and Implemented.”

July 4, 2006

The federal law ratifies the Agreement on the Status of the Fundamental Legislation of the Eurasian Economic Community, on the way it is Developed, Accepted and Implemented that was signed in Astana 28 July 2004.

The Agreement was prepared in accordance with the Agreement on the Legal Provisions for the Formation of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space of 26 October 1999 and the Treaty on the Founding of the Eurasian Economic Community of 10 October 2000. It determines the fundamental legislation of the Eurasian Economic Community and develops a unified regime for how legislation will be developed, examined, accepted, modified, suspended and abolished.

Ratifying the Agreement will help create the international legal basis for carrying out coordinated legal policies and forming a legal system for the Eurasian Economic Community. It will also help ensure the development of integrated cooperation within the Community.
