The President’s telegram reads, in particular:

“The taking of the Bastille, like the entire French Revolution, had great significance for the development of world history and for the affirmation of democratic values and freedom.

I am sure that this year will see the partnership between our countries continue to grow stronger, and will see Russia and France develop their bilateral cooperation and constructive work together on resolving key international problems.”
