The Russian Federation signed the Convention in Strasbourg on January 27, 1999. The Russian parliament ratified the Convention on July 14, 2006.
The Convention’s ratification will help improve international cooperation in combating corruption and will facilitate Russia’s continued integration into the common European legal space. With the Convention’s ratification Russia automatically becomes a member of the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO).
