The restoration of the economy and infrastructure of the Chechen Republic is more and more visible, the Russian head of state declared at a meeting with cabinet members.
At present in Grozny the process of investigating problems is coming to an end and construction work is being undertaken all over the Republic with a view to restoring the region’s social and industrial installations.
The federal centre continues to provide active support to the efforts of local authorities with a view to restoring peaceful life in the Republic.
In particular, following the session of the governmental commission for the social and economic development of the Chechen Republic, the decision was made to allocate one billion roubles to the region’s agriculture, health care and education systems.
In 2007 the financing provided for by the federal target programme to restore the region’s economy will amount to 6,8 billion roubles.
Vladimir Putin called on the Russian government to pay the very closest attention to the restoration of the Chechen Republic.
