Mr Putin and Mr Deripaska discussed work and development plans for the GAZ Group and Russian Aluminium (RUSAL).

GAZ Group is a supplier of medical vehicles as part of the Healthcare national project.

Speaking about the group’s car-making plans, Mr Deripaska told the President that a decision has been taken to transform GAZ into an international automobile manufacturing business.

The meeting also discussed the situation with regard to production of Volga cars.

Answering the President’s questions on the state of affairs in the aluminium industry, Mr Deripaska said that RUSAL has a number of major projects among its plans, including creating a joint structure together with RAO Unified Energy Systems, the Bochugansk Energy and Metals Group, which will involve completion of the Bochugansk Hydroelectric Power Station and the construction of an aluminium smelter.
