President Vladimir Putin met with President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes Alan Mullaly

The meeting discussed Boeing’s plans to develop its activities in Russia.

Boeing entered the Russian market in 1992. The company’s interests in Russia lie above all in the aviation and aerospace sectors. Mr Putin noted that the company has shown itself to be a reliable partner over the last 14 years and promised to support the company’s business development plans in Russia.

Mr Mullaly spoke about the company’s cooperation plans with Russian partners, in particular noting an agreement signed yesterday with Russian corporation VSMPO-Avisma to set up a joint venture in the area of titanium technology and to buy parts and materials on a long-term basis for a total of up to $18 billion.

Also taking part in the meeting were Senior Vice President of Boeing for International Relations Thomas Pickering, President of Boeing in Russia and the CIS Sergei Kravchenko, Presidential Aide Sergei Prikhodko, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Igor Ivanov, General Director of Rosoboronexport Sergei Chemizov and General Director of VSMPO-Avisma Vladislav Tetyukhin.
