Mr Voscherau informed Mr Putin that Gazprom, BASF and E.ON have reached agreements on the construction of the North European Gas Pipeline (NEPG) and that all the documents would be signed at the end of August.
Also attending the meeting was Mr Voscherau’s older brother, Henning Voscherau, a prominent German public and political figure.
The meeting was informal. During the conversation, conducted in German, Mr Putin congratulated Henning Voscherau on his recent birthday and presented him with a gift – two glasses with silver holders.
The Voscherau brothers visited Sochi at Mr Putin’s invitation.
