Georgy Boos briefed Russian President Vladimir Putin on the energy supply situation in the region.
According to Boos, the first power generating unit at TPP-2, which began operation at the end of 2005, provides the region with 50–60% of its energy supply needs.
In response the President noted that in the near future he plans to hold a meeting with the Cabinet members on the energy supply balance in the regions, particularly the Kaliningrad Region.
The socioeconomic development of the region was also discussed during the meeting.
