Speaking at the state award presentation ceremony in honor of federal agencies’ Special Forces (spetsnaz) personnel, the head of state highly praised their contribution to the protection of law and order, and to the struggle against terrorism and extremism. It is the actions of the Russian security and law-enforcement agencies that ensured our progress in carrying out the counterterrorist operation in the North Caucasus, the President said.

Vladimir Putin expressed his conviction that the spetsnaz personnel will continue to safeguard the security of Russian citizens with the same precision and coordination.
