Mr Vekselberg informed the President on the company’s development plans.
In particular, he said that the company would soon begin prospecting work at a manganese deposit and the construction of a plant in South Africa. Mr Vekselberg said that Russian specialists and technology would be used to carry out this project.
Viktor Vekselberg also expressed his hope that the agreement about establishing a business council between the two countries’ chambers of trade and industry, signed during the President’s visit to South Africa on 5–6 September, would act as a good stimulus for cooperation between their business communities.
Renova is already successfully operating in the Russian market. At present the priority areas of the company’s development include machine construction, metallurgy, energy, power extraction and the aluminum industry.
Mr Vekselberg also told the President about a comprehensive housing construction project the company is carrying out in Sverdlovsk Region.
