Mahmoud Abbas talked about how reforms of the executive authority are presently being carried out in the PNA. The agreement on creating a government of national unity reached several days ago is at the basis of these reforms.

Vladimir Putin expressed his hope that the steps that have been taken will help achieve a national consensus among Palestinians, swiftly settle the problematic issues that aggravate the situation in the region and hamper the development of the social and humanitarian situation in the PNA, and help renew the peace process. In connection with this, Vladimir Putin expressed his hope that the reforms will receive general international support.
