Mr Putin gave the instruction for state decorations to be presented to the crew of the nuclear submarine ‘Yekaterinburg’, who launched a ballistic missile from the North Pole region, and to reward the crew of a submarine patrolling beneath the Arctic ice at this time, and the crew of another submarine that launched a missile in the Pacific Ocean region.

Mr Ivanov informed the President that eight nuclear-armed and powered submarines are currently on active duty.
