The President held a meeting on issues related to ensuring the Russian economy's energy requirements in an intermediate-term prospective

The head of state criticized the government for not having developed a comprehensive plan for developing the country’s energy and demanded that such a plan be prepared as fast as possible.

Vladimir Putin asked Cabinet ministers not to limit themselves to natural gas and to take into account other energy sources when developing their energy plans, and also to ensure that all economic actors enjoy equal access to energy resources.

In the meeting took part Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Sobyanin, First Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Presidential Aide Igor Shuvalov, Trade and Economic Development Minister German Gref, Finance Minister Alexey Kudrin, Industry and Energy Minister Viktor Khristenko, Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Eduard Rossel, head of the Federal Tariff Service Sergei Novikov, head of the Federal Atomic Energy Agency Sergei Kirienko, head of the Presidential Experts’ Directorate Arkady Dvorkovich and head of RAO Unified Energy Systems Anatoly Chubais.
