High-level Russian-Egyptian summit talks were held in the Kremlin

Vladimir Putin and the President of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak, had a one-on-one discussion and then both countries’ delegations joined the heads of state.

They discussed topical questions on the international agenda, including the situation in the Middle East, as well as the possibility of expanding Russian-Egyptian trade and economic cooperation in sectors such as energy and high-tech. The heads of state made the decision to establish a special Russian industrial zone in Egypt.

The Presidents of Russia and Egypt also confirmed their intention to develop their relations in the cultural and educational spheres.
