The President’s message reads, in particular:

“The founders of this influential organisation were outstanding Russian cultural figures, true professionals with genuinely encyclopaedic knowledge, enthusiasm and energy. It is through the efforts of these talented people that the committee has worked hard all these years to develop museums within Russia and ensure that our country’s finest museums are worthily represented abroad.

Today you are continuing this important work in the spirit of your predecessors’ fine traditions, and you are developing new forms of research and educational work. ICOM Russia’s initiatives are of great importance for preserving our country’s historical, cultural and spiritual heritage and for expanding international cultural cooperation.”
