Vladimir Putin and Romano Prodi discussed topical issues in Russian-Italian cooperation. Both parties expressed their satisfaction with the development of their cooperation in the energy sector. They also noted the good prospects for developing cooperation in high-tech and other sectors.
They also discussed their plans for bilateral contacts at various levels, including high levels.
Following the conversation Vladimir Putin passed the telephone to the coach of the Russian female volleyball team, Giovanni Caprara, and Romano Prodi congratulated him on the outstanding success of his team, a team that won the title of world champions.
