In the morning the President visited the Ivanovo region where the missile division of the Strategic Rocket Forces, benefiting from a Kutuzov Guards Award second degree, is deployed.

The head of state examined the field positions of the missile division and Topol-M mobile missile system that has been in operation since 10 December 2006.

The second activity on the President’s working trip was a visit to the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region. There, the head of state examined missile technology – the Soyuz-2 rocket booster, the Fregat starting block, the Meridian communications satellite – and also got to know the Cosmodrome’s new infrastructure installations.
