Vladimir Putin discussed Russian-Indian economic cooperation at a meeting with the representatives of Indian and Russian business communities

January 25, 2007, New Delhi

The President noted that there are good prospects for implementing major investment programmes in India. Financial resources from India’s debt to Russia could be used to finance these programmes.

Vladimir Putin expressed his hope that the volume of trade between India and Russia will triple by 2010. Diversifying the type of joint work the countries engage in is necessary to accomplish this task.

28 heads of the largest Russian companies took part in the meeting from the Russian side.
