Vladimir Putin attended the presentation of the plan for developing Sochi’s sporting installations as part of the candidature to host the 22nd Winter Olympic Games. The presentation took place for the International Olympic Committee Evaluation Commission.

Following the presentation the head of state emphasised that the Sochi resort will be developed in the interests of Russian citizens independently of whether or not Sochi hosts the 2014 Olympic Games. The President expressed his confidence that Sochi has a good chance to become a year-round resort where millions of people can holiday.

Earlier today Vladimir Putin examined how work is proceeding in Sochi to prepare for hosting the 2014 Winter Olympics.
