Vladimir Putin demanded that the appropriate steps be taken towards the reconstruction of social infrastructure in the Chechen districts that had suffered the most from the militants, including sending there all the necessary medical supplies and school equipment.

Mr Putin instructed Mr Koshman to hold a meeting on January 5 on financial, material and technical relief actions for the Chechen Republic for the first quarter of the year 2000 and give a report on the discussion the next day.
