Yoshiro Mori congratulated Vladimir Putin on a convincing victory in the presidential election and thanked him for the warm greetings on his recent election as head of the Japanese cabinet of ministers.

Mr Putin and Mr Mori discussed practical aspects of a working visit by the Japanese prime minister to Russia. They stressed the importance of the fact that the visit would be Mr Mori’s first foreign trip in his capacity as prime minister. It was agreed that Mr Putin and Mr Mori would meet on April 29 in St Petersburg.
