President Vladimir Putin signed the Order on the Organisation of the Year of the Russian Federation in the Republic of India and the Year of the Republic of India in the Russian Federation

The Year of Russia in India and the Year of India in Russia will be held in 2008 and 2009 respectively in the aim of developing relations between the two countries and expanding bilateral ties.

Mr Putin has signed an order for an organising committee to be formed to hold the planned events, and has proposed the committee’s membership.
