The government meeting discussed taxation policy issues and possible amendments to the tax code.

Acting Russian President Vladimir Putin, who opened the session, said the projected changes aimed to make legislation more transparent, understandable and effective. He stressed that the new regulations should not put more pressure on small and medium-sized businesses, but rather contribute to their development.

The meeting also examined the taxation of banks and ways of transferring tax proceeds into the federal budget through them.
