Acting President Vladimir Putin discussed current issues of bilateral relations with Kazakhstan Prime Minister Kasymzhomart Tokayev

On opening the meeting, Mr Putin praised the current level of Russian-Kazakh cooperation and said he hoped it would continue developing productively.

The Russian party was represented at the talks by First Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov, Deputy Chief of Staff Sergei Prikhodko, Minister for CIS Affairs Leonid Drachevsky and Russian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Yuri Merzlyakov.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alexander Pavlov was also present at the meeting.
