Vladimir Putin supported the trade union's proposal to set up a commission made up of members of the government, the State Duma, trade unions as well as scientists in order to finalise and adopt a new Labour Code as soon as possible.

Mikhail Shmakov put forward the initiative to set up supervisory councils that would ensure the transparency and efficiency of social foundations.

Mr Putin and Mr Shmakov also discussed plans to raise wages and pensions.
