Acting President Vladimir Putin signed a decree appointing Sergei Yastrzhembsky as presidential aide

Sergei Yastrzhembsky was given the task of coordinating information and analytical work of federal executive bodies participating in counter-terrorist operations in the North Caucasus. He will also be in charge of organising contacts with the mass media. In keeping with the decree, the chief of staff of the Presidential Executive Office was instructed to form a department consisting of 14 staff members, which will provide support to the presidential aide’s activities. The term of the presidential aide’s office is limited to the timeframe of the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus.

The president met with Sergei Yastrzhembsky in the Kremlin at 4 p.m.
