Leaders of the “Caucasian Four” countries met in the Kremlin

Acting President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Heidar Aliyev, Armenian President Robert Kocharian and Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze discussed the situation in the Caucasus, regional security issues and ways of expanding four-way cooperation, including that between law-enforcement and border-control agencies and secret services.

At the beginning of the summit, Mr Putin wished Mr Shevardnadze a happy birthday.
