The lower house of Russia’s Prime Minister voted to appoint Mikhail Kasyanov, who had been nominated by the President, to the post of Prime Minister.
In accordance with Article 112 of the Constitution, the Prime Minister must present proposals to the President on the structure of federal bodies of executive authority within a week of his appointment. He must also nominate candidates for the posts of his deputies and federal ministers.
