Mr Putin’s message reads in particular:

“It is with sorrow and indignation that I learned of the bombings in the Algerian capital that have caused dozens of victims among innocent people.

This criminal act of terrorism once again confirms that terrorism has no ethnic or religious identity and is one of the greatest challenges the entire international community faces today.

I ask you to accept in this tragic hour, Mr President, my sincere words of sympathy and support, and I ask you to pass on my condolences to the families of the victims and to wish all who were injured a speedy recovery”.
