The Russian President stressed that “recently, Africa has been playing a bigger role on the international stage and making considerable progress in its social, economic and political development.” Mr Putin emphasised that African countries still had to tackle such challenges as armed conflicts, financial and economic problems, and human and environmental crises, which “hinder peace and stability on the continent and the development of its countries.”
The head of state expressed his satisfaction “with the persistent and fruitful development of relations between Russia and African states. The countries are finding new avenues of mutually beneficial cooperation.”
The letter said that “Russia highly appreciates these friendly relations, which are playing a big role in forming a truly democratic world order, and it is looking forward to strengthening multilateral as well as bilateral partnerships.”
Mr Putin expressed his confidence that “by joining efforts we can enhance the effectiveness of Russian-African relations and assist in settling important world issues by applying the principles of international law.”
