Speaking at the meeting, the President said that the system of pre-conscription training of young people (sports and basic military skills) requires serious modernisation.

Dmitry Medvedev will instruct the Government to develop the concept of the federal youth pre-conscription training system until 2020.

The Government will also be instructed to draft state support measures, including budget financing, for aviation and technical activities and applied military-oriented sports.

Mr Medvedev issued an instruction to start reorganising the Russian Defence Sports and Technical Organisation (ROSTO) as a public state association. The Defence Ministry, in particular, will be involved in this work.
